Caló Gitano is a professional flamenco dance company and academy that was founded in 2001 by flamenco dancer Marianela “Malita” Belloso. Since its inception, the group has grown to include members from several different countries, and has performed flamenco throughout Georgia and the Southeast. The group performs regularly throughout the Atlanta area, and its energetic performances have garnered the group recognition on the award-winning program, “This is Atlanta”, and has given the group the opportunity to perform on CBS’s “Better Mornings Atlanta”

 

The Alpharetta and Johns Creeks branches are headed by Carolina “Cara” Belloso a professional flamenco dancer with more than 30 years dancing experience. Cara performed with the Atlanta Opera in their production of Carmen, and with the Caló Theater Company in their Holiday production “Once Upon a Christmas in Olelucía” and their most recent productions “Raíces”, “Sueños Andaluces” and "Romancero Latino".

 

At Calo Gitano in North Atlanta we teach Flamenco Classes to children and adults of all ages and offer Painting (BYOB) Classes throughout the year and Flamenco Themed Birthday Parties that are a blast!
